Raw and Smackdown Review

This Week started WWE road to Summerslam, The brand extension Monday Night Raw started off with a bang with two fatal four ways with the two winners faced off against each other with the winner facing off against Seth Rollins at Summerslam to crown the first ever WWE Universal Champion. The main event was Roman Reigns versus NXT top draft pick in the draft to Monday Night Raw, Finn Balor. Finn Balor defeated Roman Reigns in a way that no one has been able to do since Roman was WWE Champions and that way was CLEAN not a cheap victory like by cheating or Disqualifications. WWE Monday Night Raw also started the new era off with a huge bang with Sasha Banks becoming the new women’s championship when she made Charlotte tap out to the Bank Statement.

Tuesday Night Smackdown, that has some getting used to, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan started off the show with a bang by having a six pack challenge to determined who is going to face Dean Ambrose at summerslam for the wwe world heavyweight championship. The five participants that they named was John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, and AJ Styles with the six person coming out from a battle royal which was won by Apollo “don’t call me Terry” Crews. Becky Lynch defeated Natalya in a Battleground rematch, Also Randy Orton defeated the Miz in his first match back since his injury,  in the main event Dolph Ziggler won the six pack challenge where he is heading to summer slam to face Dean Ambrose.

Now the card heading into summerslam so far is Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose defending his WWE World Championship against Dolph Ziggler, and Seth Rollins facing Finn Balor for the vacant WWE Universal Championship.

So what matches do you want to see happen at Summerslam let know on Twitter @WarriorMW23

Raw Preview and Dream Predictions

Monday Night Raw is going to be unveiling a new stage set for the new era, but some questions are looking to be answered tonight with the WWE World Championship, WWE Women's Championship and Tag Team Championships. If those three championships are going to be on both brands so who are going to be the new challengers for the championships.

Here are some ideas that i have for these three championships. Why not have a number one contender tournaments for each titles then at the pay per view have the championship matches. I would love to see Finn Balor vs Dean Ambrose or The Club vs The Dudley Vs The New Day.

Who are dream title feuds that you want to see in this new era.

Battleground Review

Last night was a stellar event put on by WWE it shows that they are ready for the new era to begin tonight with Monday Night Raw, but there are a few things that are still uncertain and that is the state of the women’s and tag team division belts are the champions going to be floaters like the WWE champion? Now let's get to some points that I want to talk about in this pay per view.

Breezango versus the usos, this match you would think would be the Uso’s for the taking. That is where you are going to be shocked to see that they lost, because the prince of cuteville and the dashing dancer pulled out the victory from the jaws of defeat so to speak.

Sasha Banks and BAYLEY vs Charlotte and Dana Brooke, now I know the IWC is marking out that Bayley were Sasha choice. Reports were saying Nia Jax, Nikki Bella, or Naomi. Sasha made Charlotte tap out to get the Victory what does this mean going towards Summerslam is Sasha going to be the number one contender or will Charlotte find a way to avoid Sasha or defending the championship.

New Day versus The Wyatt Family was a match that brought out shades of old school wrestling between the good versus evil. Bray Wyatt was inside the mind of Xavier Woods throughout the match. WWE Commentary was calling this the going away party for the Wyatt’s since the draft separated when Braun was drafted to Monday Night Raw and Bray and Rowan were Drafted to Smackdown.

Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn that match that stole the show in my eyes, this feud has the makings to be a feud like Shawn Michaels and Triple H as the saying good in wrestling “Good Friends Better Enemies” well with these two it put out true because they brought out the best in each other, Sami picked up a huge victory over owens last night.

These were some of the moments that stuck out for me from this event, now it is time to see what WWE is going to do heading into Summerslam.

The Relm Review

This week in wrestling turned out to be the highest ratings in a long time for Smackdown once they went live on Tuesday Nights, Tuesday is also a way to stop the dirt sheets of getting match results at that show tapings and leaking them before the show airs in the states. It would like that they stacked the draft to be in favor of Monday Night Raw with them getting three draft picks for every two that smackdown made.

Okay folks it is rant time on the The Relm Report, A Lot of the IWC fans are bitching and moaning about Eva Marie being drafted to smackdown saying she was an NXT call up, News Flash humanoids Eva Marie was on the Main Roster for the women's division, so you need to realize that she wasn’t a dang NXT draft pick. MoJo Rawley this pick i saw coming because Zack Ryder is on the Main roster loop of shows and Rawley was working he main roster house show loop for a couple weeks now. The Hype bros are going to be something good for the main roster in the tag team division.

Alright Lucha Underground is the alternative to WWE and TNA, they had their season finale for season two which had some major shocks and surprises like Angelico returning to screwing Worldwide underground to help Air, Fire, and Fury( Fenix, Aerostar,  and Drago) to win the lucha underground trio titles which also made Fenix the first ever Triple Crown Champion in lucha underground history. Then you had the debut of Black Lotus against Dragon Azteca Junior from the start it shown they were out for blood, the match was cut short when Pentagon Dark interrupted and attacked both of them and broke both of their arms in the ring and called out Matanza Cueto for the world title match to get start, Pentagon dominated the match till his master Vampiro inadvertently screwed him over by bringing in the barbwire bat.

Then you have the dream match of the year, “El Rey” Rey Mysterio vs “Prince” Prince Puma in a match that was all about respect and to see if Rey still had what it takes to hang with the younger talent of the Lucha Underground roster. Also this dream match was cut short by Pentagon Dark again attacking Rey and Prince Puma but this time he also attacked his former Master Vampiro with the barbwire baseball bat.

Now here is where the traditional wrestling fans are getting confused when they see Dario Cueto being arrested in the cutscene to end the show with a to be continued. So there are unanswered questions for Lucha Underground going into season three. So stay tuned to see what is going to happen in The Temple.

Brock UFC Fate after being busted again

The USADA has informed Brock Lesnar that he also tested positive the night of his fight against Mark Hunt. Brock tested positive for the same substance that Jon Bones Jones tested for when he was suspended for two years. Nevada Commission is looking to fine Brock Lesnar for these positive test that have happened.

But my question is going to be now how does this look towards WWE now because he is signed with WWE. I think WWE is not going to allow Brock to step back into the octagon since this has happened, what is WWE going to do to brock will they test him the same way that USADA is doing test to make sure that he is not faking the wellness policy.

People are wondering if Brock is going to come back to UFC, now he is looking to face a two year suspension which would have him come back to fight at the age of 41 since he is 39 right now. So we have to wait and see what happens with the future of Brock Lesnar in the UFC.

WWE Mock Draft

Tuesday Night WWE landscape will change, With this Draft Extension happening on the first episode of Smackdown Live. WWE announced the rules for the draft which has fans calling foul because they have stated that for every two picks Smackdown receives Monday Night Raw will receive Three picks, now here is my thing with this set up why should length of their respective shows determine the amount of picks the brand makes each round. What i think they should do is have a match to determine which brand gets the next pick not do it by ratings.
One thing that I love is that WWE is only allowing 6 draft picks from NXT, so here is my predictions of NXT talent getting drafted. Bayley, Finn Balor, American Alpha, shinsuke nakamura, Alexa Bliss, The Revival. People are saying why American Alpha and The Revival being drafted, the reason is tag teams are one pick instead of two picks unless the Commissioner or General Manager specifically only wants one member of the team.
Here is my mock draft for Monday Night Raw and Tuesday night Smackdown with the current top champion for the world and women's champions being floaters and allowed to appear on both shows.

UFC 200 recap

UFC 200 is now in the books with shocks around the world that Amanda Nunes has defeated Miesha Cupcake tate to become the new UFC Women's bantamweight champion, This coming after Miesha just won the title off of Holly Holm at UFC 196. Now people are talking that is this a sign that UFC needs its prodigal daughter to return to her throne being Ronda Rousey? I believe that it might be true because UFC was more marketable when Ronda was champion but that was pre holly holm lost. Now how is she going to be in the octagon since she has a lost in her career? I think when the time comes for Rousey to return she will be a dominate beast that she once was.

Jose Aldo defeated Frankie Edgar to become the Interim featherweight championship, this was a fight that I saw Aldo winning from when they announced it. So I was happy to see that he won the championship, now I can’t wait to see when the current champion at Featherweight comes back for the title unification bout.

Anderson Silva you are the real MVP in the eyes of Dana White and Daniel Cormier after the Jon Bones Jones suspension. This bout was ground and pound, it went the distance with the champion coming out on top, but could their be a rematch with a full training camp with the both of them in the future?

Cain Velasquez proved to Travis Browne that he is a future legend in the octagon with a first round knockout in two minutes and 36 seconds. Cain simply proved that he is out to get the victory it doesn’t have to be slow and methodical it can be quick and painful.

Now the fight that most fans were shocked to see happen in the first place, Brock Lesnar returns to the UFC with a victory over a top 10 ranked fighter in the heavyweight division, with one fight he stakes claim at quite possibly contending for the UFC heavyweight championship again, Could WWE profit off of Brock being UFC Champion and WWE Champion at the same time that is the question I know Wrestling and MMA fans would want to know? In my opinion, Yes it would be a smart business move to have Brock be UFC and WWE champion that way you can cross promotions between companies set up fights for brock through fan interaction by the fighter calling out brock. Now we will have to stay tuned to see what the companies and brock want to do when it comes to Brock fighting in the UFC.

Jones out Silva In

News broke yesterday that Anderson “Spider” Silva is the replacement for Jon Bones Jones to face Daniel Cormier in a non title bout in the light heavyweight division. Now people are wondering which fight is going to be the new main event of UFC 200.

Now the new main event is going to be Miesha Tate facing off with Amanda Nunez in the main event of this historic pay per view in UFC history. Only fitting to have a woman bout headline an history show compared to have Brock Lesnar vs Mark Hunt being the headliner with this being Brock’s first fight back in the company.

Does this get you hyped up for UFC 200 now that Daniel Cormier will be on the card as he was supposed to be but not in the fight people were getting ready to pay to see when they announced the card for the show.

Fact or Fiction

Here is something that i am going to call Fact or Fiction, which i take a look at so called “Dirt Sheet” Rumors give you my points of view on them where i believe if they could be fact or fiction. Well lets starts shall we.

  • The reason WWE is announcing Brock Lesnar's SummerSlam opponent before his UFC fight may be due to the fact that UFC will actually promote that match on the UFC 200 show this weekend..
It is fact people, because it is smart business to cross promote events that your talent is going to be in to set up your next event. So Brock Lesnar is facing Mark Hunt at UFC 200, WWE is promoting his interviews and videos on their youtube page to promote this event in return the UFC is going to promote Brock’s WWE Summerslam fight against Randy Orton it called cross promotion people it smart business if you really think about the move.

  • It's still expected that Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins will be the top stars on Raw and John Cena and AJ Styles will be the top stars on SmackDown after the brand split, at least at first.
Now the draft is coming up on July 19th there has been talks about who is going to be on what show, I have said in the past that i could see both Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns begin on Raw while John Cena and AJ Styles and The Club be on Smackdown to bring new life into smackdown once again.

  • According to the Observer, WWE may book a New Day vs. Wyatt Family "compound match" that will be an attempt to top what TNA did with The Final Deletion.
Ok this talk about WWE doing something like TNA did with the “Final Deletion” I don’t think so but people need to realize that WWE first did the off site wrestling matches when Owen Hart fought Ken Shamrock in the Dungeon match with Dan The Beast Severn as the official for the bout. Now this Hardy feud that people are saying is wrestling Sharknado because it is so bad that it is good. But my thoughts on the New Day vs The Wyatts at a compound could set up for something we have yet to see which is sister abigail, their has been talks of WWE wanting to bring to live the character, so could this be their way of doing it. Who do you think that they are going to have play Sister Abigail, their has been talks that it is going to Daffney, Crazy Sarah Dobson, Victoria, but the one woman who i think would knock this role out of the park is Santana Garrett because she has posted photoshoot that were Wyatt Family themed maybe WWE caught wind of it thought of her for the role. She has been on NXT in the past so she has been see by the WWE universe.

Alright do you believe any of these so called rumors that are circulating the dirt sheets. So let me know what you think about these rumors.

Impact Wrestling going home to Thursday Nights

We have found out via Dixie Carter that Impact Wrestling is switching nights again, but this time they are moving back to Thursday Night which when Impact Wrestling was at its best was on Thursday Night when they had wrestlers like Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Jay Lethal, Robert Roode, Eric Young, AJ Styles just to name a few. So people are speculating that this move was made because WWE has announced that Smackdown is moving to tuesday nights and going to be live on the USA Network starting July 29th.

Here is my take on the whole Impact moving, I say it is better for them because, they don’t want to compete with WWE in ratings because they know that WWE is the ratings giant when it came to Monday Nights, Thursday Nights, and Friday Nights when when Smackdown switched from Friday Night Smackdown back to Thursday Night Smackdown. Impact has in the past changed their show days from Wednesday when it was on Fox Sports, then when Spike Tv picked them up they moved to Thursday which was their most profitable era for the company, then they did a one night Monday Episode which tried to re spark the Monday Night War which WWE countered with Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart in the same ring since the Montreal Screw Job storyline.

With Impact Wrestling being back on Thursday which would give them no competition right now from NFL or WWE since WWE is on Monday’s and Tuesday’s starting July 29th so could this move help gain interest back in the fans or is their something drastic that has to happen to get fans to support Impact Wrestling again?

What are your thoughts on this move? Do you like the move or you don’t care let me know on twitter follow me @WarriorMW23 give me your thoughts on this or what Impact Wrestling has to do in the future to gain your interest back in the product.

20th anniversary of the Hollywood Leg Drop of Doom

July 7th is a day wrestling fans around the world will never forget. That is the day that Hulk Hogan ditched his say your prayers, eat your vitamins gimmick for the persona that he created when he joined the Outsiders in the New World Order. Growing up as kid during that era i saw the writing on the wall that it was time for Hulk Hogan to be a bad guy because people were already tired of his Hulkamania gimmick in WCW in 95 he was being booed out of the arenas when he was supposed to be cheered. What did Hulk Hogan do, he turned his back on the WCW to align with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall ironically are two other wrestlers that were in WWE before they were signing with World Championship Wrestling.

I still love the line that Bobby The Brain Heenan said when Hulk Hogan came out during the six man tag team match between The Outsiders and their mystery partner vs Sting, Lex Luger and Macho Man Randy Savage. Heenan said “Who side is he actually on” When Hulk Hogan dropped the leg drop on Macho Man, I cheered because I knew it was an evolution of his character coming into play, Little do people realize the team that he turned his back on was the same exact team he had for Fall Brawl War Games against the Dungeon of Doom.

Now speaking of Iconic Heel Turns that have happened, here are some of my favorite memories of good guys becoming bad.

  1. Hollywood Hulk Hogan
  2. Shawn Michaels
  3. Macho Man Randy Savage

Those are three that stuck out in my mind because Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan were known as the mega powers in World Wrestling Federation, at the time Randy thought Hogan was hitting on his manager Ms. Elizabeth and tension flew from their because Randy was over jealous you can say.

Now here are some heel turns that i think should happen in wrestling that could actually help the business in regarding revenue and marketing merchandise.

  1. Roman Reigns: The fans are getting tired of his gimmick of being the last member the shield and being shove down their throats because he needs an evolution of his character.

  1. John Cena: Here is an example of a man that could do a heel turn like Hulk Hogan if they can book it the right way. John Cena has been with the company for 14 years now in this time frame he has been mostly a babyface after his first heel run with the Doctor of Thuganomics when he was feuding with Brock Lesnar.

  1. Dolph Ziggler: Dolph he could benefit from a heel turn ala rockers shawn Michaels with Marty Jannetty because people think he is the second coming of shawn michaels, he has the ability to be a good heel. Now he needs a enforce that can be his backup or to help him steal victories, here is where you bring back someone like Kevin Nash who has stated countless of times to let him manage Dolph.

  1. Jey Uso: Here is a wrestler that could use an evolution in character when he debut on the main roster of WWE from Florida Championship Wrestling he was in a tag team with his brother Jimmy Uso, this is where you can have the brothers turn their backs on each other to go their separate ways for a while to see how the single wrestling works for them compared to being held down being a tag team wrestler.

I have listed my choices for wrestlers that need an evolution which could be a simple addition to their gimmick or a new look and attitude and persona, Follow me on twitter @WarriorMW23 so we can discuss your ideas of wrestlers who need a change.

The Relm Review

Wednesday Night has become the best night for wrestling with WWE NXT and Lucha Underground, also you have the WWE World Cruiserweight Classic getting ready to start next week. This past wednesday we have another awesome night of wrestling on television. First we will talk about wwe NXT, NXT had a historic main event for the first time on television NXT had a Tag Team Title match determined under two out of three falls rules. Between the Revival and American Alpha. These two teams are the cream of the crop of the NXT tag team division.

The show started off with the women's division when former women’s champion Bayley faced off with Alexa Bliss, Alexa controlled most of the match but Bayley found a way to get the victory with her trademark Bayley to belly suplex. Then after the match she called out Nia Jax to set up another match between them two. Then their was a video package talking about the dream match between Finn Balor and Nakamura which will be on next week's episode.

Then you have the team of Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy taking on the team of Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley better known as Hype Bros. the match started out with Rawley and Blake, then Murphy tagged in, then out of nowhere Rhyno made his NXT return spearing three out of the four people in the match with Murphy gettin out of harm's way, so what caused rhyno to return and why is he back.

The Main Event was an awesome showing of tag team wrestling in NXT, American Alpha took the first fall then The Revival came back two win the next two falls to retain their nxt tag team championships.

Ultima Lucha Dos is the wrestlemania of Lucha Underground, it starts off with Willie Mack and Cage in a Falls count anywhere match, The winner of the match to moves on in the tournament to take on the winner of Texano and Son of Havoc. Willie Mack and Cage battled through the temple with cage using a picture frame, Willie Mack used beer, stop signs, tables to pull out the victory.

Texano vs Son of Havoc was named a Boyle Heights Bar fight, this match was brutal with the whole bar set up was used in the match and including a fire extinguisher, the winner was Son of Havoc as he went on to face Willie Mack in a falls count anywhere where the winner gets an Unique Opportunity as General Manager Dario Cueto. The winner of the Unique Opportunity was Son of Havoc which started off Ultima Lucha Dos with a bang, speaking of Bang, Dario Cueto set up Son of Havoc where he could take the money or a contract for a world title shot at Ultima lucha three, Havoc took the title shot well Dario offered money to Dr. Wagner Jr if he defeats Son of Havoc, if Son of Havoc wins he gets to keep his title shot.

WWE Cruiserweight Classic is shaping up to be historic because this is the first time ever that WWE has done with people that are not even signed with the company to guerilla market themselves to try to get themselves signed by the WWE. but here are my choices of wrestlers to watch for in this tournament.

  1. Zack Sabre Jr.
  2. Cedric Alexander
  3. Johnny Gargano
  4. Kota Ibushi
  5. Drew Gulak

Those are the five guys that i deem favorites in the tournament, then you have my five wildcards in this tournament.

  1. TJ Perkins
  2. Brian Kendrick
  3. Tarji
  4. Anthony Neese
  5. Lince Dorado

I can’t wait to see how this tournament shapes up to see how something like this could work out in the future for more different type of tournaments like a women’s wrestling tournament, then you can evolve the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team tournament to get more tag teams that are not just WWE.

Jon Jones out of UFC 200

Breaking News as of July 6th that Jon Bones Jones will be pulled from his title unification bout against Daniel Cormier. Jones was caught with a banned substance in his system when he was tested on June 16. It was an in an out of competition sample that was taken on June 16th said UFC vice president of athlete health and performance Jeff Novitzky. He also stated that USADA are the ones in charge and administer the UFC anti drug policy.

With that being said how is this going to affect Daniel Cormier appearing on the UFC 200 card, he went on to say that he will take a fight if the terms were right and the fighter was ready for a fight on short notice.

So what is Dana White going to do meer days before the biggest UFC event in the history of the company, I guess we will have to play the waiting game.

UFC 200 Preview

Saturday July 9 UFC returns to pay per view with their milestone event UFC 200 with Jon Jones facing off with Daniel Cormier for the UFC Light Heavyweight championship. Also on the card you have Miesha “Cupcake” Tate facing off with “The Lioness” Amanda Nunes in a woman’s bantamweight fight for the UFC Women's bantamweight championship. Also on the card you have Frankie “The Answer” Edgar facing off with Jose “Junior” Aldo for the interim featherweight championship, you also have Cain Velasquez facing off against Travis “Hapa” Browne. Then you have the fight that have been sparked a lot of Social Media attention, when Mark Hunt faces off with “the Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar, this fight will be the first fight since Brock’s battle with Diverticulitis, so the questions loom there, could brock be rusty coming into this fight or will he show the world that he hasn’t lost his touch when it comes to the octagon.

“Alpha” Cat Zingano battles against Julianna “The Venezuelan Vixen” Pena this fight will be one of the showcase fights on Fox Sports one for the prelims of UFC 200, you also have Kevin Gastelum facing off against “Bigg Rigg” Johny Hendricks. Raphael Assuncao is looking to shock the world by possibly defeating the number one ranked fighter for the UFC Bantamweight championship. The opening bout of the prelims on Fox Sports one will have Enrique “Wasabi” Marin facing off against “Super” Sage Northcutt.

This card is stacked from top to bottom with talent, The fight that most people want to see is Brock Lesnar vs Mark Hunt. The reason being is that Brock was forced due to Diverticulitis, Brock wanted to step into the Octagon one more time so he can end UFC on his terms not Medical terms like his first run with the company did. But the main question is could brock get the UFC bug again so he could try and structure his contract to allow him to do more UFC fights while still wrestling for WWE. Could Mark Hunt make this fight his swan song if you would like to call it that in UFC by defeating Brock Lesnar, Social Media has been in an uproar about this fight. Travis Barker the former drummer from the band Blink 182 has went on to say he would get TMZ tattoo on his body if Brock Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt. Well I think Travis Barker needs to get ready to go to the tattoo parlor because I believe that Mark Hunt is going to be defeated by Brock Lesnar.

Daniel Cormier vs Jon “Bones” Jones is another fight that fans are dying to see because this is a heated rivalry between these fighters, could Jon Jones capture his Light Heavyweight Championship one more time or will Daniel be able to stop Bones from trying to capture the championship. I think Daniel will remain Champion after UFC 200 is over.

The women's bantamweight championship match is going to be the one to watch, could Amanda pull off an upset by winning the championship, Amanda could do the same thing that Meisha did when Holly Holm after Holly defeated Ronda Rousey. But I think “Cupcake” will defeat “The Lioness” to retain her championship to set up Miesha vs Rousey 3, that would make much more money for the feud with the title on the line compared to previous fights between the two fighters.

This card is going to be fun to watch, I can’t wait for Saturday Night to watch UFC 200. Who do you think is going to win at UFC 200? Follow me on twitter at @WarriorMW23 tell me who do you think is going to come out on top.

Moose Signs with Impact Wrestling

Quinn Moose Ojinnaka has been signed to a Multi-year deal to wrestle for Impact Wrestling according to MLW. Moose was also in talks of signing with the WWE to be apart of their NXT brand, news got out of Moose’s Domestic Violence case that happened back in 2009 the charges were dropped.

The question I have with this issue is why didn’t WWE look past this to sign the man, when they have people in the company that was recently suspended for being arrested for an Domestic violence issue that was dropped now that person’s suspension has been lifted. Then you have people that were released from the company for said issue then the charges were dropped. I see them being a publicly traded company having to deal with that type of issues when their talent is not at the arena.

So stay tuned to The Relm Report for more information on this deal between Moose and Impact Wrestling comes available.
